Streamek — Privacy Policy

Effective date: 31 October 2026

1. Who we are

Streamek is a video player app for iPhone and iPad. It plays videos from your device, the Files app, iCloud Drive and links you provide. This policy covers the Streamek app ("the App").

The App is run by Amjed Al-Agele, based in Iraq, who is responsible for your personal information (the "data controller"). Contact: support@streamek.net.

2. The short version

  • No account: you do not sign up or sign in.
  • Your videos stay with you: we never receive the files you play or the links you open.
  • No tracking, no ads, no third-party analytics.
  • Your library, settings and history live on your device and are deleted when you delete the App.

3. What the App handles

All of the following stays on your device. We do not run servers that receive it.

InformationWhyWhere it stays
Videos you import from Files, iCloud Drive or other appsTo play themCopied into the App's storage on your device (visible in the Files app under On My iPhone › Streamek), or read from their original location; the App reads only the files you pick
Links you enter or share to the AppTo play the videoOn your device, in your recent links (the last 20) until you clear them
Your library: favourites, recently played, playback progress, and the speed, audio and subtitle choices for each videoTo resume where you left offOn your device
Settings, such as subtitle appearanceTo remember your choicesOn your device

When you play a video from a link, your device connects directly to that website. That website receives your IP address and device details, as with any browser, under its own privacy policy. We do not see these connections.

We do not collect your name, email, contacts, location or advertising identifier. We do not buy information about you.

4. iCloud

If you pick a video stored in iCloud Drive, Apple may download it to your device first, under Apple's privacy policy. The App reads only the files you pick and does not store any of its own data in iCloud.

5. Device permissions

The App does not ask for access to your photos, contacts, location, camera, microphone or notifications.

The App reads Files and iCloud Drive only through Apple's file picker, which gives access only to the items you choose. AirPlay and Picture in Picture use the controls built into iOS and need no extra permission.

6. Services we use

  • Apple provides iCloud, the App Store, AirPlay and Picture in Picture, under Apple's Privacy Policy.
  • If you choose to share crash reports with developers in your device settings, Apple sends us anonymous crash data.

The App contains no third-party analytics, crash-reporting or advertising tools.

7. Sharing

We do not sell your personal information or share it for advertising. Because the App keeps your data on your device, we have almost nothing to share. We share information only:

  • when you email us and the law requires us to disclose it, or to protect the safety of others;
  • with a new owner if the App is transferred, who must keep to this policy.

8. Tracking and ads

We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites, we do not collect advertising identifiers, and we do not show ads.

9. How long we keep it

  • Data on your device: until you delete it in the App or delete the App. Imported videos are excluded from iCloud Backup; your library and settings may be included in your device backup, depending on your iOS settings.
  • Emails you send us: as long as needed to handle your request.
  • Crash reports: as long as Apple makes them available to us.

10. Deleting your data

There is no account to delete. You can:

  • delete videos from your library inside the App;
  • clear your recent links from the Open URL screen;
  • delete the App, which removes everything stored in its storage on your device, including imported videos.

Videos you opened from the Files app or iCloud Drive without importing them stay in their original location until you delete them.

11. Security

The App uses the security built into iOS, including app sandboxing and on-device encryption. The App plays links over HTTPS only and does not open unencrypted (http) links. No system is completely secure.

12. Your rights

You can access, correct, export or delete your information, object to or restrict how we use it, and withdraw consent at any time. Since your data stays on your device, you can do most of this yourself. For anything else, email support@streamek.net. We reply within one month. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

13. Children

The App does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Parents can use Screen Time to limit or block the App.

14. Changes

When we change this policy we update the effective date above. The current version is always at streamek.net/privacy-policy and linked from Settings in the App.
